Delegates from 46 territories are gathering in Toronto from November 9th to 11th for WINCON 2026, the annual conference of the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). This edition celebrates the network's 20th anniversary, and Mark Meyer, founder and CEO of Random Sounds, is part of the official program.
What is WINCON and why does this edition matter?
WIN is the international network that brings together independent music associations from around the world. WINCON is its annual meeting: the place where labels, distributors, and associations share knowledge and build joint responses to the issues affecting the sector.
In 2026, the conference is being held in conjunction with Make It Music and the Label Summit by CIMA, Canada's independent music association. Additionally, thanks to WIN's partnership with IMPALA, it offers further opportunities for exchange with European companies.
Where will Mark Meyer be participating?
Mark will be participating on Monday, November 9th:
- Society Clubhouse, Toronto. "Streaming in Focus: What's Next for Independents?" panel, alongside Tony Kiewel (Sub Pop), Helen Smith (IMPALA), Mark Kitcatt (Everlasting Records), Gee Davy (AIM), Céline Lepage (FÉLIN), Ruth Koleva (ANMIP), and Paul Mornon (WIN).

What topics will be on the table?
The program features seven sessions over three days. The main themes are:
- Music discovery on streaming platforms
- Streaming fraud
- The growing volume of AI-generated content
- Neighboring rights and working with collective management organizations.
Why does this matter for labels and distributors in Latin America?
Decisions on how independent music is discovered, protected, and paid for are discussed in spaces like this. Having Latin America represented at that table is relevant for the entire region.
At Random Sounds, we build technology based on the industry's needs for both companies and their professionals. If you will also be attending and would like to learn more about our White Label service or our Ambassador program, please contact us at info@sounds.co
